well i had this problem myself not so long ago i tried limewire but found it really slowed my system down and it was almost impossible to access the net because of the uploads, im now using http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/areshome.html with no probs at all would highly recommend!
nah stick to limewire dont download ne more free music sites thats when ya computer gets full of spy where and virus's
