What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…
Question: We’re 18… and one of my friends likes a 16 year old and she gets teased about it, but another ones dating a guy who’s like 24, and when I hooked up with a 23 year old they all thought it was fine, why’s there this huge difference in how acceptable an age is, one girl can get with a guy 6 years older w/o anything being said but the other can’t see someone who’s less than 2 years younger…?

P.s. I don’t see an issue with 2 years younger, it’s legal here and I think on the whole they can be mature enough…
Answer: Traditionally the guy is often older than the girl (not always, but often)…couple that with what can sometimes be large gaps in maturity between teens and young adults, that tends not to be an issue when people move on into their 20s and beyond…nobody thinks anything of a 28 yr old woman dating a 26 yr old man, but an 18 yr old (legal adult), dating a 16 yr old may raise an eyebrow (and although they "can be mature enough", they are rarely as mature as they think)…
Most people don’t care. Maybe it’s just because he’s 16. If he was 18 and she was 20 then I doubt anyone would say anything. Even if it’s legal where you live 16 is still considered a child, 18 is an adult.
Me and my friend are 23, i am dating a 29 yo and she is dating a 20 yo. You have no idea they huge difference in maturity. I would never ever date a younger guy, they are NEVER more mature than a female even of the same age.
well to be honest my mates 14 and her bf is 18. its illegal her but he has real real respect for her and dont do anything to make it illegal.
I think age bands are S_T_U_P_I_D!!!
i think girls get on MUCH better with older girls just for the fact that guys take longer to mature than girls (if that makes sense)
