Is Internet Dating Sad?

Another internet dating question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: Is Internet Dating Sad?
Answer: I think that depends on you. What do you expect from it, and why are you doing it?

A lot of online dating services are little more than "meat markets". As a female, you can expect a lot useless attention. But if you can get past that, and keep your head straight, I think it is a useful way to cast your net a lot further; don't get too carried away, though - finding a guy (or girl) in a distant place can be its own can of worms.

I met my girlfriend through an online service. We are both middle-aged, intelligent people. She had been on the site for a long time, and had been patiently reading all the mail she received (and answering only polite ones). Then one day she and I connected. We are very close to perfect for each other, and have a wonderful, rewarding relationship (1 1/2 years so far).

The thing is, online dating has the potential to help you get around all the clumsy, awkward stuff of getting to know someone in person, physical presence I mean. You can tell a lot about someone by what they say, and how they say it.

At the time I joined this service, I didn't have much time for dating. Maybe I'm a little different, but I did not write to every pretty face I saw. Actually, I only wrote to maybe 5 women in the two months I used the service. I'd read their profiles, of course, but not take everything they said at face value. I was more interested in how they said it; that told me a lot about them.

I was incredibly lucky to find a fantastic woman so quickly, who soon felt the same way about me. It won't always work, that is for sure.

But it can!

What Do You Think About Internet Dating Do You Think It is OK to Try if So Which is the Best One to Go On?

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: What Do You Think About Internet Dating Do You Think It is OK to Try if So Which is the Best One to Go On?
Answer: Absolutely, Internet dating is fine. From personal experience, after my divorce, it worked like a charm. I had more than 10 different dates in 3 weeks. Then I met the one I have dreamed about for years, she is awesome, sexy, and totally into me! So, now I have a date every night!

There are several good sites, you can sign up for free at most any of the sites out there, and some like Yahoo and match.com will let you show interest in someone for free, you just have to pay to get email. However, you can sign up for free to see if anything is of interest to you.

plentyoffish.com/ offers 100% free service. You can email and chat for free. Just keep in mind, that you get what you pay for.

I hope this helps, and happy hunting.

How Long Should I Wait to Have a Date with a Boy That I Met in the Internet?

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: i had been chatting with this guy since last may. we had alreadly talked on the phone, sent each other sms and seen us on the web cam. i want to meet him but he does not want to have this date. should i wait more time? or i just have to forget about him?
Answer: Why can't it just remain just as it is?

Do you have to 'just forget him' because he doesn't want to take things to another stage?

By not 'letting it be what it is,' you might risk losing a 'Friend' - which you are considering 'forgetting about' anyway.

What does this say about You?

I'm not saying that either of you is Right or Wrong, by the way.

Best of luck.
Sash.

Has Anyone Ever Had Success with Internet Dating?

A internet dating question that should definitely interest you all this week

Question: Has Anyone Ever Had Success with Internet Dating?
Answer: I met a guy through the net, his pic was lovely and was a really nice guy…..Until we met. He was nothing like his picture and to be honest he was more or less trying to use me for sex. Kept touching me up etc, didn't enjoy it at all. In the end i made my excuses and left. It seems to work for some ppl but i would recommend getting to know someone really well and over the course of a few months as it can turn sour.

Good luck if you are looking into it and Keep the Faith
Amy

Do You Have Any Internet Dating Nightmares?

A tough internet dating question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: I heard one today that made all the hairs on my neck stick up , i won't go into details all I will say is be careful out there!!
Answer: This could have been worse I guess but a few years ago, I had met this girl in a chatroom, and we found we had similar interests - films, fitness, and TGIFridays. So we decided to meet.
We did and there was definite physical attraction and the conversation was going along smoothly, several drinks in. Then she asked what I did for a living and I told her I was a Youth Pastor (for a local church).
She pauses for a second, looks like she is formulating a thought. Then she says, "So was Mother Mary a whore or what?"
Needless to say I didn't see her again.
